Schiff Hardin partners Harmon A. Brown and Robert R. Pluth Jr. will present "What Every Wealth Transfer Adviser Needs to Know about S Corporations," a session during the 50th Annual Hawaii Tax Institute. The session will examine the myriad issues surrounding the making, maintaining and termination of the S election.
Mr. Brown concentrates his practice in estate planning, trust and estate administration, and planning for closely held businesses. He helps individual plan the transfer of their wealth to their beneficiaries in the most tax-efficient manner. Mr. Brown has extensive working with owners of closely held businesses in minimizing taxes and in multi-generational planning.
Mr. Pluth represents taxpayers in connection with various federal and state income tax controversies, including complex tax accounting matters and transactional disputes. He also advises sophisticated privately held businesses and their owners in connection with their tax, succession and business planning opportunities and needs. A registered CPA, Mr. Pluth regularly speaks before accounting, other professional groups and business owners concerning a wide variety of tax and tax-related topics.
