Elise focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and state and local taxation matters. She is a passionate advocate for her clients, and has represented clients in federal and state courts in Illinois and Michigan in a wide variety of disputes, including breach of contract, business torts, real estate, and employment. Elise has experience in all phases of litigation, including managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, working with expert witnesses, dispositive motions, and trial.

    • Successfully first-chaired arbitrations in multiple matters involving breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty claims.
    • Briefed and argued a successful summary judgment motion in a declaratory judgment action on a shareholder agreement, resulting in a favorable settlement for the client.

          In Viamedia v. Comcast, the Seventh Circuit is currently reviewing a district court’s decision to dismiss a refusal to deal claim on a 12(b)(6) motion because plaintiff Viamedia failed to allege that Comcast’s refusal to deal had no rational competitive purpose.
